  • A new family member

I woke up early today to pick-up King from Aiza's house in Caloocan. Last month, I offered to adopt one of her pups since its been awhile since we had a dog in the house. Also, we really miss Leon so I figured its time to get a new dog. (Read: Good night, Leon)

King is of Japanese spitz decent, which supposedly makes him a small decoration breed. However, he was not small at all! At two months old, he doesn't fit the puppy bag I bought the other day!

    Me and King
Before we took him in, the family was debating with the name and finally agreed with "Ryou," a Japanese word that means illusions. It also means dragon, or a guardian. Aside from that, the name came from the main playable character of Suikoden 2, who I love to the core. (The other choice was Sora but we decided it was more feminine than Ryou.)

Unfortunately, Aiza told me this puppy is used to being called King so we decided to adopt the name. King, however, is not very kingly at all. (Aiza said he is but it might take awhile before we see that.) He wouldn't walk around the house, he always stays close to me, and would rather seat on the sofa than explore his new home.

After a few hours, we finally managed to have him explore the front yard. As you noticed, his tail is still between his legs and he walks in this slow scared manner. Japanese spitz are famous for their tails, which curls at the top of the butt area. Since he's a mixed breed and he's bigger in size, he looks more like a retriever.

Above is a picture of King under the living room table. Kawaii! It immediately become his favorite spot. But after a day of clinging to me and doing nothing, King finally settled down on the couch:

I have yet to bring him to the vet for shots but he's such a domesticated pup we keep on thinking if he'll be able to help guard the house. Haha.
