Don't stop writing

While browsing through old files to de-clutter Genesis, I stumbled on an old video of The Brilliants Christmas Party last December 18, 2010. I tried uploading this vid in video sharing sites but all attempts were unsuccessful.

I'm posting the photos instead. If you want a quick transcript of the "conversations" that night, I posted it at the bottom of this entry. Again, Merry Christmas Brilliants! Let's conquer the world! :D

Rough transcript of that night:

Jake: Wala--NEVER--in the history of my lifetime have I seen so many talents in one room. Fuck everyone else, this rocks!

Kamote: Ten years ago, nag-away kami ni Jules kasi eto 'yung gusto ko, at eto 'yung gusto niya. Pilit kong kinukumbinse si Jules sa pinili kong gawin at pilit akong kinukumbinse ni Jules sa pinili niyang gawin. Pero ngayon, sabi ko kay Kuya RJ, ikaw ang taong has everything I want right now. You have all the money I want right now. At kay Jules, naiingit ako sa saya mo, 'dun sa ginagawa mo. Nung una, akala ko pera kaya ako andito pero... not now--not anymore.

Here's what Sir RJ told us that night:

Wala akong level of regret kasi natutunan siya (writing) talaga. Parang sa karera, yung iba nagsimula na pero minsan bumabagal. Yung ibang mabagal, minsan, bumibilis sila.

I always tell you, when I was undergoing workshop, I was never brilliant. Talagang ako ang kino-contribute ko lang patawa, kalandian--alam ni Ricky 'yan. I did not stop learning up to now. Sana kayo you don't stop learning.

Kapag natapos ang workshop, it shouldn't end there. Dapat equipped na kayo. Dahil equipped na kayo, dapat hindi na kayo mahiya na sunggaban ang opportunity. Kung ano ang natutunan niyo, nasa inyo na kung paano niyo gagamitin ang natutunang 'yun.

You should watch more films, read more books, talk to people--kasi nasa tao naman ang kwento. --> My favorite.

Kapag naituro ko na ang dapat kong maituro, nasa sa inyo na 'yun. Hindi ko kayo pwedeng akayin habang panahon. Ibibigay ko lang ang nalalaman ko. If you fail wala akong magagawa, if you succeed ako ang unang-unang matutuwa. I'm very proud of the writers na sa akin nanggaling. I'm sure most of you will continue writing.

Up until now, I worked very hard for what I am and for what I have.

Quote ulit from Sir RJ: Baka ang maganda nito, since madaming lasing, mag-kape muna tayo.

Lesson: Huwag mag-heart-to-heart talk kapag lasing na lasing. Haha. (Aminin, walang nakakaalaa sa mga nangyari dito.)
