  • Sampling Manang's Chicken

    A two-piece chicken meal from Manang's
I knew BonChon chicken was a success the moment my officemate-friend Kim told me there's a new chicken place in Ortigas. Its called Manang's Chicken and its basically packaged the same way as BonChon. The meal comes with fried chicken wrapped in a special sauce and topped with sesame seeds and a cup of white rice.

(Pardon me for comparing it to BonChon, its just that I've been dining on BonChon chicken since late last year and had developed an affinity with the glazed chicken from the Korean kitchen.)

Anyway, the taste is different. While BonChon is tastier, Manang's has a distinctly Pinoy taste that is not really inferior... It's just different. You'll know it once you eat it. the shell is almost the same as BonChon when it comes to the "hardness" but the chicken servings are bigger (and relatively cheaper).

BonChon chicken is basically a beer or soju accompanying food but Manang's chicken is best with rice, when you're too fed up with fast food chicken around the metro and wants something better and different.
