After making the dumplings, we had leftover dough and scallions, so my companion insisted we make flat onion cakes. Its surprisingly a simply dish, something I can even replicate at home without batting an eyelash.
These onion cakes are commonly made with dumplings because it essentially uses the same dough. And it only has one ingredient: chopped scallion leaves.
The process is simple: knead the dough, flatten it with the rolling pin, and drizzle the chopped spring onions. Then roll, roll, roll!
Afterward, chop it into sushi sizes:
And when its done, flatten them again using the rolling pin:
The second rolling pin attack is a bit tricky because the spring onions tend to protrude from the dough. But if your OC-ness can forego that, fry the flat cakes and its good to go! - 4/1/14
