  • Sir Gani's Birthday!

Today is Sir Gani's birthday and he doesn't want to share his age with us, which is expected. Sir Gani is our ever-dependable editor-in-chief who lives, breathes, and even dreams (if he even sleeps) of news. When I grow up, I want to become like Sir Gani! Haha. :D

Anyway, because its SOP for anyone in the team, especially editors, to treat the staff on their birthdays, Sir Gani treated us to Lechoneros, a hole-in-the-wall dining area in front of ELJ building along Mother Ignacia. As the name implies, its full of lechon goodies.

While waiting, the group took photos using phone cameras. The publishers are not included in the meal; they said they'll come but forgot about it. Too bad.

After awhile, everybody grew tired of taking photos and waited for the meal. After all, its already around 2 p.m. at that time. The Tres Marias (Trina, Aleta, and Jum) look very hungry, really. Haha.

But their reactions are incomparable to Ms Arlene, who never missed meals and whose appetite rivals the boys in the newsroom. She's on a no-smoking diet so she can only wait patiently for the food. And oh boy, was it a tremendously long wait.

To let time pass, we decided to take photos again. Haha.

    The others followed suit. :D

The only one who's obviously happy was Porky, the tip pig, who eyed this delectable bangus from Pixie's. Of course we can't eat yet. Heck, not even the rice were served!

When the food finally arrived, everyone took their time getting the meal. We're starving, that's why. And we're news people--we are good at waiting but not with an empty stomach!

After the meal, everyone can finally heave a sigh of contentment and smile. :) Infairness, the wait was well worth it. The food didn't disappoint and the sisig na lechon was a bomb!

When we returned at the office, Miss Charie surprised me and Sir Gani by giving us cakes from Banapple! :D What a wonderful day!
